Today, in Yoga Teacher Training…

As part of this beautiful Journey Within, I have been participating in a monthly Yoga Challenge on Instagram called Yogratitude by the InstaOmCrew. The four hosts post an Asana “Yoga Pose” and we post our version of the Asana. This month, we are also to post one thing for which we are thankful. Today’s Asana was S(h)avasana or “Corpse Pose.” This Asana is actually harder than it looks. The physical aspects of S(h)avasana are relatively easy. However, you may think you are completely relaxed and not even notice tension in your forehead. Until, the teacher says, “Relax your eyebrows.” I sure didn’t.

That’s actually the easy part. The toughest part is relaxing the mind. Basking in THIS moment. Not in the laundry list of things that need to get done. THIS moment. Not in the guy at work who acts like an asshole. Not even in the kick ass class I just had because I finally conquered a basic part of a pose I struggled with a lot. THIS moment. This is Pratyahara “Drawing Back.” Drawing our senses to a stand still. Or as I like to describe it ~ “Staying at the center of the circle and letting things take their course.” This is My Mantra.

Today, I’m thankful we are at the halfway mark of the training. Two weeks to go!

When a pose is difficult and seems so easy in photographs, I like to post bloopers to show that a snapshot can be deceiving. In that vein, here are some “bloopers” from today’s Asana.

We are so lucky! Our Yoga Teacher Training gets to have a beautiful beaming light full of smiles, Ana June. Remember her? I photographed her in the womb and as a newborn! And Jake, the most obedient and loved dog I’ve ever met. He gets so much love from everyone in the studio, just like Ana June! Oh! You can’t see it, but the two pictures on the right had drool. LOL
